FAQs

1.  How do I book you for my wedding or event?

First of all get in touch, we can discuss your requirements and

come up with a package of entertainment that you are happy

with.  Once this is agreed I will then send you a contract that sets

out all the details, I then require a 20% deposit in order to secure

your date.  You can contact me at any point between booking

and the date of your event if you have any questions.  Full

payment is due 2 weeks before and I will be in touch around

this time to finalise all the finer details.  If you would like to see

me perform before you book then check out my upcoming gigs

on Facebook, Instagram or on the blog post on this website.

2. Do I need to provide accommodation?

This is only required for long distance journeys of 2.5hrs or more

from Skipton where I am based. In most instances, the

accommodation costs are included in the fee and agreed at the

time of booking.

3. Do you provide music in between sets?

I provide a 'virtual DJ' service in between sets.  This can be one of my pre-made playlists or you can provide your own.  You also have the option to add on a playlist service following on from my live set for up to two hours which can be agreed for an additional fee

4 What does it mean when the contract states that I am to be provided with food and drink?

As a musician I work long hours and drive long distances to travel to gigs, therefore it would be greatly appreciated if I could have access to free soft drinks.  If you have opted for the full day package it would also be greatly appreciated if a meal could also be provided.  This would typically be the same meal that guests receive.  This is something we can discuss in greater detail closer to the date of your event. Please make sure either the venue staff or a suitable person (e.g. wedding planner/caterer) are aware of this.

5. What equipment do you provide and what requirements do you need from the venue?

I provide all my own equipment, all I need is access to power and an area around 2-3 metres to set up.  Somewhere where I can store bags, guitar cases etc would also be helpful.  If part of your event is to take place outdoors I will need access to power and adequate weather protection (either rain or sunshine!) for me and my equipment.  A gazebo or shelter of some kind should be sufficient.

6. What are your performance times and how long do you play for?

The set times are to be agreed at the time of booking. I understand however that events don't always run exactly to schedule and can be flexible if set times are moved around a little. If you require extra music beyond the agreed times this can be arranged for an additional fee.

7. How long do you need to setup?

I require a minimum of 60 minutes to ensure that all equipment is unloaded, set up and sound checked, to make sure everything is perfect and ready to go.

8. Can we choose the set list?

I am experienced in reading the room and getting a feel for an audiences musical tastes, meaning song choice and set list order can change on the day in order to make your event personal to you and your guests. For this reason, I don't send out a finalised set list but you can rest assured that your enjoyment is my main priority.  I am happy to provide a copy of my full repertoire so if there are any particular songs you want me to include this is something we can discuss. For packages that include specific song requests (ceremony/first dance) I will need at least 4 weeks notice prior to the event in order to learn the songs and perfect my performance.  I am aware that in some local authorities, registrars require you to submit which songs you are having for you ceremony to ensure there is no religious content.  Again this is something we can discuss in the lead up to your wedding.

9. What if I need to cancel my booking?

A 20% deposit is payable at the time of booking and a contract is signed giving full details of cancellations and payments. If you cancel then I will retain the deposit. In the unlikely event I need to cancel i will refund this and seek to find a replacement where possible.  If you cancel within 28 days of the event then full payment is due, this is because I am unlikely to find work at short notice to cover this.

10. What is your policy on social media?

I will be taking pictures and videos throughout the day, documenting my performances and all the lovely details of your big day. I use these to create content for marketing and promotional purposes that will be posted on my social media platforms.  This is an important part of my work as it helps me to secure future bookings.  If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of this then please do discuss this with me prior to signing your contract.
